Villars commits to sustainable cocoa
On 28 June 2017, Villars makes a commitment as a founding member on the Swiss Platform of Sustainable Cocoa.
What makes this platform unique and strong is that it brings together the main producers of chocolate in Switzerland, the SECO as well as numerous enterprises, non-governmental organisations and research institutes.
Its aim: to strengthen sustainable management in the cocoa sector, substantially improve the situation of cocoa producers, and create an attractive cocoa sector for current and future generations.
One of its central elements is the intermediate measurable objective of achieving, by the year 2025, a level of 80 per cent of imported cocoa products coming from sustainable production.
Another objective is the promotion of dialogue with the authorities and local organisations in the producing countries.
